High take-up rate a
strong signal of pick-up in global economy
Singapore, 23 July 2009 – As the global economy
shows positive signs of a pick-up, the International
Furniture Fair Singapore 2010, held in conjunction
with the 27th ASEAN Furniture Show (IFFS/AFS 2010),
looks set to spice up the global furniture scene with
a strong line-up of first-time and loyal repeat exhibitors,
both local and international, already confirming their
participation in the event. To date, more than 50
per cent of the total 45,000 square metres of nett
exhibition space at IFFS/AFS 2010 has been snapped
up eight months ahead of the fair. This high participation
rate, despite the current economic outlook, is an
excellent endorsement of the fair’s solid reputation
as one of the world’s top international furniture
trade shows featuring the best of East and West.
Held from 9 to 12 March 2010, IFFS/AFS will showcase
more than 100,000 pieces of quality furniture and
furnishing products from all over the world, living
up to its reputation as Asia’s one-stop sourcing
haven and a must-visit on the international furniture
trade exhibition circuit.
Singapore exhibitors have been enthusiastic in their
support for the fair, with newcomers such as Novaz
Singapore Pte Ltd and Evershine Corporation Pte Ltd
making their debut next year. They will be joining
big players in the Singapore furniture scene including
Eurosa Furniture Co. (Pte) Ltd, Koda Ltd, Suncoast
Sitra Pte Ltd and Star Furniture Industries Pte Ltd
as well as familiar names like Archipelago Exports
Pte Ltd, Asiades Ltd, Box Living Pte Ltd, Cellini
Design Center Pte Ltd, Domus Ventures Pte Ltd, Falcon
Incorporated Pte Ltd, Haleywood Industries Pte Ltd,
O’Bredi Pte Ltd and Soflex Gallery Pte Ltd,
who are collectively taking up 6,458 square metres
of booth space at IFFS/AFS 2010.
Adding to the list are international players Brema
Marketing GmbH, Ever Gaining Furniture Ltd, Manutti
BVBA, Pan Pacific NZ, Ronan Ltd, PR Interiors, Shenzhen
Meihuaju Industrial Co., Ltd, Verdon and Wesbrook
Ltd, reaffirming that IFFS/AFS 2010 remains an effective
trade conduit for global furniture players and the
place to see the very latest furniture offerings.
IFFS/AFS is also known for its distinct focus on
furniture design, reflected through its array of design-related
features and activities such as PLATFORM, an arena
for young furniture design talents to showcase their
furniture prototypes and strike up potential partnerships
with international manufacturers. The winners of the
Furniture Design Award 2010, Asia’s trend-setting
furniture design competition organised by the Singapore
Furniture Industries Council, will also be presenting
their masterpieces at the fair.
With the 2009 show drawing positive comments and
feedback from exhibitors and visitors alike, the event
organiser, IFFS Pte Ltd, expects the coming show to
be even more impressive and extensive with better
designed layouts and display areas to showcase the
myriad of furniture products and exhibits from around
the world. IFFS/AFS 2009 saw a healthy attendance
of 15,606 trade visitors from 118 countries, with
a total of 104 overseas buying delegations from 38
different countries and achieved an estimated total
of US$245 million in spot orders.
