IFFS: Gateway to Asia and Pack Leader

With almost four decades of fair experience since 1981, IFFS remains the choice platform for international exhibitors and visitors alike. With each passing edition, the fair strives to bring distinct exhibits and business matching opportunities dedicated to regional and international companies looking to penetrate the global market.

IFFS: What exciting new features can we look forward to in this year’s IFFS?

Oh, many new features! This year, we’ll present our largest Indian and Indonesian contingents yet. We’re really glad that ASMINDO has decided to join us at this year’s edition, and it goes to show that IFFS is the platform of choice. I believe our offer of design-led content in a premium space makes us a ‘pack leader’ of sorts among the shows in the region, and our extensive international reach allows exhibitors to tap on us as a gateway to Asia.

We’ll see a record-breaking number of 15 National Pavilions represented by countries across the globe. Four countries — France, Japan, Portugal, and Turkey — will be making their debuts at the event, while 11 others — Belgium, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Italy, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam — are familiar favourites returning to the fair.

On the design front, we’re partnering international design consultancy TANKE.LONDON/ for the first time to present CARTE BLANCHE, featuring Chantal Hamaide — Founder of internationally acclaimed French design magazine, Intramuros — and ARRO Studio. Comprising an assortment of furniture, accessories, décor, and design objects, this showcase is the fair’s main focal point, where most activities, like the Opening Ceremony, Media Conference, and Design ´ Business Seminars, will take place.

We’re also delighted to welcome back Giulio Cappellini, who will curate an exclusive feature area — The Italian New Renaissance. Modelled after a typical noble house in Italy, the showcase will feature leading Italian furniture and furnishing brands in various living environments, such as the living room, dining room, and bedroom.


IFFS: How does IFFS keep up with the changing times?

Technology is more prevalent in our lives now than ever before. In that regard, we’ve made a deliberate attempt to make use of technological advances, weaving them into the fair to increase the chances for meaningful connections on site.

For starters, our IFFS App offers visitors essential show information and business matching services. We’re also partnering D5 Innovation to bring Virtual Reality (VR) back to the show. Last year, the VR displays received plenty of attention, and visitors will be able to experience the future of furniture retailing through our partner’s latest VR software.

Of noteworthy mention is the fact that we’ll be the first furniture and furnishing trade exhibition in Asia Pacific to feature Augmented Reality (AR) technology on site. 10 leading exhibitors will be part of this initiative, extending their brand presence beyond the physical constraints of their booths. Visitors can enjoy an interactive 4D experience of participating exhibitors’ products by scanning the respective logos on the Show Directory with their smartphones.


IFFS: What are you planning for the future editions of IFFS?
